Maintenance Schedule

General Cleaning
· Sweep regularly with a stiff broom to remove leaves and debris.
· Periodic cold pressure washing is fine up to 150 bar using a fan jet, keeping the lance at least 200 mm from the surface.

Stain & Spill Removal
· Oil/Fuel: Treat promptly with a good quality detergent; let it sit for around 10 minutes, then pressure wash.
· Cement/Concrete: Use dilute hydrochloric acid or a proprietary remover; test a small area first and rinse thoroughly. Avoid on lime-based aggregates.
· Iron/Mineral staining (e.g., pyrites): Oxalic acid is effective; apply carefully and rinse immediately with cold water.
· Chewing gum: Spot-freeze and scrape off; use a specialist contractor for larger areas.

Weeds, Moss & Algae
· Surfaces are weed-resistant, not weed-proof. Remove small weeds by hand (root and all).
· For growth, use suitable herbicides/moss control products as directed by the manufacturer.
· Keep leaf litter off to avoid tannin staining.

Winter Care
· Salt/grit may be used for ice and frost.
· Once conditions normalise, wash off residues thoroughly.

Heavy Use & Protection
· Do not drag heavy objects or place edged skips directly on the surface; use load-spreading boards if unavoidable.
· Avoid solvent spillages; they can soften or damage the binder.
· No “dry turning” (spinning/turning tyres while stationary) — it can gouge the surface.
· Heavy goods vehicles should not park on or regularly traverse the surface unless the base was designed for it.

Chemicals & First Week
· Chemical resistance builds over time; for the first 7 days keep chemicals off the surface.
· Always follow product labels and test a discreet area first.

Inspections & Repairs
· Annual inspection by the installer or maintenance contractor is recommended.
· Small areas can be patched using the same aggregate blend and approved UVR resin, feathering edges for a seamless repair.
